Not all headaches are related to diseases of the sinuses. Even facial pain and headaches which are located directed over the sinus cavities may or may not have any causal relationship to diseased sinuses. Other associated nasal symptoms including nose congestion and runny nose or post nasal drip would be more suggestive of a sinus cause for headache and facial pains than when these symptoms are absent. The evaluation will typically include nasal endoscopy to search for clues that would suggest sinus infection as the cause of the symptoms.
