Although they are uncommon, both benign and malignant tumors can be found in the nose and sinuses. Symptoms can include nasal congestion of one side or both sides of the nose, bleeding from the nose, pain in the nose, headache or other symptoms. If a mass is identified inside the nose, a tumor can be diagnosed through biopsy which can often be performed in the office. If a growth inside the nose is identified, a CT scan may be recommended as part of the evaluation. The treatment recommendations will depend on the results of the biopsy and other testing.
