Michael C. Burnett, MD

michael-burnett-md-nyDr. Burnett specializes in medical and surgical treatment of a wide variety of ear, nose, sinus and throat conditions. He completed 9 years of post doctoral training after medical school, including a residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State Hershey Center, a residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his medical school training at the New York University School of Medicine, and received his BS in Engineering from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.

An accomplished medical writer, Dr. Burnett Co-authored multiple book chapters and was guest editor of an issue of Facial Plastic Surgery focusing on outcomes research in facial plastic surgery.

Awards

Dr. Burnett was recipient of the Alex Rosen Award for Excellence in Medicine and the Humanities.

In medical school he received the NYU President’s Award for Volunteerism and Community Service as the Founder and Director of the NYU School of Medicine African Medical Textbook Project, which shipped more than 20,000 new and used medical textbooks to more than 15 medical school libraries in countries throughout Africa including Ethopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Liberia and Zimbabwe.

He has been named a Superdoctor and Five Years in a row has received the Vitals Patients’ Choice Award.
